Course Information

Computational intelligence (CI) is defined as the ways in which standard computer methodologies fail to address difficult issues. Computational (or artificial) intelligence is studied in four main areas: fuzzy logic, neural networks, CI optimization, and knowledge-based systems. There are many career options that apply what you studyon this course, such as working in the field of robotics control or video game creation.

You have a wide variety of modules to choose from, including natural language processing, artificial neural networks, and data mining techniques. At De Montfort University’s specialised robotics laboratory, you may use mobile robots. The applied computational intelligence module focuses on current research and applications in the field of AI, and incorporates knowledge-based systems, as well as the historical, philosophical, and future implications of AI.

Research from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence is used in the development of modules (IAI). Offering theoretically sound solutions to real-world decision making and prediction issues, the firm’s work is known for its reliance on fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks, evolutionary computing, mobile robots, and biomedical informatics. Previous students have published articles in cooperation with their IAI project supervisors, and gone on to study at PhD level.
