This online MSc in Energy Transition will provide you with an overview of the many issues facing the world today.
Learn how to prepare for a job as an engineer as the energy sector transitions from fossil to renewable sources. Participate in the first online energy transition degree programme of its type in the United Kingdom. Learn how we can integrate Low Carbon Technologies (LCTs) into the University of Aberdeen’s present and future energy systems.
You will develop an in-depth technical understanding of LCTs, which may include wind, tidal, solar, hydrogen, and biomass energy sources.
You’ll also learn about the non-technical components of Moving to greener energy that all engineers working in this sector must consider, such as the economics and politics of the shift.
When it comes to energy transition, you’ll adopt a systems-thinking approach in order to better comprehend complex, interrelated, and increasingly digitalized energy systems. You will get training in a variety of applicable methodologies for system-level research, such as Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Energy System Analysis (ESA), among others (ESA). In addition, you will learn how to evaluate and compare alternative technologies by employing technical, economic, and environmental analytical techniques.
Who is eligible to pursue a degree in energy transition?
Graduates of BSc and BEng engineering programmes, as well as graduates of allied fields in the physical sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics, are eligible to apply for the MSc Energy Transition. This online degree programme is designed to be flexible enough to accommodate full-time employment with flexible study.
