The Postgraduate Certificate of Medical Education is awarded after completion of this part-time distance-learning programme. This is the first level of a three-stage progressive course; any who complete it successfully will apply to move on to the Postgraduate Diploma and MSc levels.
Both those new to instructor roles and duties, as well as those with several years of experience, will find the curriculum to be dynamic, nuanced, and demanding. The course’s ultimate goal is to create a group of educators dedicated to improving both what and how The course teach potential healthcare practitioners.
The course is very hands-on and seeks to model best practices in learning and teaching by incorporating a variety of creative approaches to learner encouragement and progress. The course is divided into modules, each of which includes immersive experiences distributed over the internet. These exercises are carried out in classes, with an online mentor facilitating each one. This provides an opportunity to address and clarify awareness of the module subject, as well as the opportunity and time to incorporate new learning through online conversations, projects, webinars, and assignments. There is plenty of time to focus on one’s own practice and discuss ideas and fresh perspectives with peers as a result of this. This is a programme that is fully immersive.
The Academy of Medical Educators (AoME) has approved the training, which is consistent with the UK Higher Education Academy Fellowship standards and GMC Trainer criteria.
